But okay so like, to make this even worse
Say you and Barney are friends and you really click and spend a lot of time together, same wavelength. But you're not more than friends and that's not even really on the table - or well, you haven't thought about it before since other people kinda see you and Barns as part of a big network of adoptive family.

So from other people's views you're like, as "close as siblings" and it didn't occur to you that that's necessarily untrue but upon reflection it's like hmmm maybe sharing a bed and swimming in your underwear together isn't siblingish

and so now you're kinda like huh is this weird

as you ask your 17 year old friend for help deciphering this fucked up dinosaur situation

ok some stuff though:

2. perception of others doesn't matter, though i get what you're saying, that their perceptions kind of maybe threw you off track for a bit?

3. you can still develop feelings for someone in your "adoptive family." alex and i are in the same "adoptive family" of floor 19 at Valhalla. i actually confused what he meant when he confessed to me. i was like, "yeah your reaction to this thing is normal for somebody you feel like family with don't worry" blah blah, like an idiot. and then we straightened it out. uh, **figured it out, it was not straight.

4. let's take weird/normal out of this because it's stupid. would you want more than friends/more than siblings to be on the table, with barney?

5. i'm down for being asked about fucked up dinosaur situations. sharing is caring.

I get the whole 'you could' but if you aren't, and don't think they are developing feelings - so no feelings involved - it's nothing to get worked up about right?

I used the whole it's weird since you're pseudo family thing but I never thought it was weird personally, since I would sleep in the same bed as my sisters when they had nightmares and stuff. Y'know, fight the boogeyman and tell him to go fuck himself? So it felt a lot like that but then I realized my double standards when it came to assuming things about people who weren't my sisters and bff.

it's nothing to get worked up about if there's no feelings. that's what i think, anyway.

but: you did ask your 17 year old friend about it. maybe you need to think about how you feel? and not just keep making assumptions about everybody in the equation. including yourself.

Noted, and will put that as an idea under advisement but honestly I just wanted to get your opinion on this. I'm pretty sure there's nothing else about it, but we'll see.
